What Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs is and what it is used for.
Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs contains the active ingredient menthol which suppresses a cough. The syrup works by soothing and calming your throat and relieving the symptoms of a dry and irritating cough.
Before you take Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs
Do not take Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs if you:
- are allergic to menthol or other ingredients (see section 6)
Do not give Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs to children under 6 years of age
Taking other medicines
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist before you take Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs if you are taking any other medicines, including those obtained without a prescription.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice if you are pregnant or breast-feeding before taking this syrup.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs
Each 10 ml adult dose contains 9g of sugar (sucrose and glucose). This should be taken into consideration by patients with diabetes. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
How to take Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs
Always take Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you; check with them if you are not sure about anything.
Dosage:
This syrup is to be taken by mouth. Shake well before use.
Adults and children over 12 years:
2 x 5ml teaspoons of syrup.
Children 6-12 years:
1 x 5ml teaspoons of syrup.
Repeat the dose every 3-4 hours if required.
Do not take more than 6 doses in 24 hours.
Do not give this medicine to children under 6 years of age.
Do not exceed the recommended dose. If symptoms persist, speak to your pharmacist or doctor.
If you take more Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs than you should.
Seek medical advice immediately if you accidentally take more syrup than you should or give a child more syrup than is recommended.
If you forget to take Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs
If you accidentally miss a dose, do not take a double dose; just take the next dose as normal.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your pharmacist.
Possible side effects

How to store Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Store below 25°C. Do not refrigerate.
Do not take Vicks Cough Syrup with Honey for Dry and Irritating Coughs after the expiry date which is printed on the bottle or carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month stated.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

Each 5ml dose contains the active ingredient:
levomenthol 6.25mg

This pack contains 100 or 120mls of syrup in a brown glass bottle.
